Hey all
After a few fairly major setbacks with this years nationals, not least having to elect a new co-ordinator, we are nearly ready to send out the application packs. We also have an exciting competition lined up for talented artists and graphic designers to design the logo for the event and to win themselves some prizes too. Information and rules should be below and will be posted in the announcements forum too.

FanArt Competition 2007 Rules
The nationals committee is proud to announce a new competition to design a logo for the Student Nationals to be held in Edinburgh this year. The design will be printed on Nationals 2007 T-Shirts to be sold at the event, Friday 30th March to Sunday 1st April.
First prize: Free entry x2 and accommodation x2 for the two nights
Second prize: Free entry x2 to the nationals
Third prize: Free entry x1 to the nationals
Fourth and Fifth: 1 free T-shirt to be collected at the event.
If you wish to participate, please send your FanArt by e-mail to nationals@geas.org.uk or by post to FanArt Competition, 5/7 Sienna Gardens, Edinburgh, EH9 1PG. Please send a copy of the submission form with each entry. FanArt submitted without the information in this form will be rejected.
Please bear in mind the following rules for your entry
a. The design must contain either the words Student Nationals 2007 or Student Roleplaying and Wargaming Nationals 2007
b. You can submit either digital or hand drawn FanArt.
c. Any digital FanArt must be a minimum of 300 dpi while hand drawn work should be approximately A4 sized
d. In the case of a hand drawing, please note that the picture should be clear enough to be scanned.
e. If the image is submitted by attachment, please note that it must be BMP, JPG, GIF or PNG, PDF or Photoshop format ONLY. Do not send Word documents, Powerpoint Presentations or PaintShop Pro files. They will not be accepted.
f. Imitation or insertion of copyrighted images are not allowed: comics, movies, TV characters, etc
g. Artwork considered by the committee to be violent, provocative, pornographic, discriminatory or inappropriate will be disqualified.
Rules of the competition
Please send original works. Copies will be rejected. No FanArt will be returned. Be sure to keep a copy.
- The deadline for submission is the 31st December 2006.
- In January, the public will vote on the Student Nationals website and make a shortlist of its 10 favourite designs. The Nationals committee will select the winners from these.
- Results will be announced in February 2006.
- No more than 2 pieces of FanArt per person.
- The competition is open to everybody but minors are required to send a parental/guardian authorisation by post or e-mail with your drawing. Any FanArt the committee believes to be sent by a minor will be rejected without an authorisation form.
- By participating, you agree to give the copyright for your design to the Student Nationals Committee. We will use FanArt for the purpose of the Nationals only. We decline any responsibility of misuse of the image.
- All personal information enclosed in the submission form will remain confidential. The Student Nationals 2007 Committee will not pass these details to any other companies. They will be used to check the validity of a submission and to contact the winners.
- Those who win prizes will have their money refunded if they have already paid for entry and/or accommodation. Prizes for entrants who have not already booked accommodation and entry will be subject to availability.
